Club Guy & Roni invites: Cecilia Moisio
In the annual Club Guy & Roni Invites event, we as international dance company work with up-and–coming artists. In this third edition we invite Finnish-born choreographer and theatermaker Cecilia Moisio. After her in-your-face performance “V” about the vulva, she now comes with her new taboo-breaking performance about addiction: ADI(C)SCO.
Cecilia Moisio: ADI(C)SCO
In ADI(C)SCO, choreographer Cecilia Moisio goes in search of intoxication in a seemingly endless dance trip, of going on and on and losing yourself in it. For that reason, the performance breathes the atmosphere of the disco-era, when the club scene and also designer drugs became popular. With ADI(C)SCO, Moisio and the dancers of Club Guy & Roni will bring a rock-hard disco trip to the theater.
Moisio makes performances that expose social issues. In this case, the taboos and shame surrounding addiction. Want to know more about her personal motivation and working method? Read on below.
“For me, it’s super important to expose young and talented choreographers to a wider audience, and also at the same time expose our audience to a new generation of makers. That is what Club Invites is about; celebrating talent.” – Roni Haver
As part of Club Guy & Roni invites, on this evening we also present SOUL NERVE by Sarah Janneh; an exclusive preview of her upcoming, full-length solo song program.
